(EN) The city of the cool cars

(EN) I realized that once some years ago, when I did a German course in Frankfurt. The density of cool cars was amazing. One out of every three was an expensive top-ranking car. The reason for that which someone gave me was that in Frankfurt there are a lot of executives who gets a new business automobile from time to time and the "old" one is sold in turn. Taking into account that this city is the business nerve centre in Germany having the headquarters of a lot of banks and main offices of big companies, it's hardly surprising to find executives everywhere. Because of the traffic a lot of them go by bicycle inside the city. A good image to see: an executive by bike wearing a spotless costume and his briefcase behind.

In Stuttgart there are just a few of them, by luck or misfortune. However, cool and sport cars are likewise to be seen all over the city: not only audis, mecerdes or BMWs, but also porsches, lotus, jaguars... The reason: this is a place where everyone has a good job, at least so far, and money is devoted to show off. Crime rate is very low. Moreover, we musn't forget that Stuttgart is the seat of companies as Daimler Crysler or Porsche. The automobile is just an extension, a limb of your body. Mobility seems to be a constitutional right in this country.

Although the weather is not always good, convertibles come out from everywhere. They can be seen parked without the top, but with raised windows. Top is not important, but windows are, otherwise the insurance won't pay. It's also fun to see that, on the other way, smarts are very popular. Of course convertible smarts and its sport version, which has been very successful among Stuttgart citizens. People avoid parking problems and just enjoy the freedom that a tiny car gives.

I took some pictures of remarkable cars in Stuttgart streets. Have a look at it on "My EVS pics and videos" in this blog.
